In a significant step forward in the bilateral relationship between the two countries, the Prime Minister of Bhutan, Dasho Tshering Tobgay, has invited the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi to visit Bhutan.
The announcement was made in a statement issued by the government of Bhutan on Friday. According to the statement, the two leaders have reviewed the progress of various areas of bilateral cooperation and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthen the two countries’ friendship further.
In this regard, Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay expressed his deep appreciation for India’s role as a reliable, trusted and valued partner in Bhutan’s developmental priorities. He conveyed an invitation to Prime Minister Modi to visit Bhutan next week, which was graciously accepted by the latter.
