Kohima: The 10th edition of the Capt (Late) N Kenguruse, Mahavir Chakra Memorial Football Tournament 2026-27 is set to be held from November 2 to 10 in Kohima and Chümoukedima, marking a decade of the tournament held in memory of the decorated Army officer from Nagaland.
The tournament will be conducted under the aegis of Spear Corps and Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (North), in collaboration with the Nagaland Football Association (NFA), and with support from the Kohima District Football Association (KDFA) and Chümoukedima District Football Association (CDFA).
Twenty teams are expected to take part in the tournament, divided into four pools of five teams each. Matches will be played at the Indira Gandhi Stadium in Kohima and the Chümoukedima Football Stadium.
The tournament carries a total prize purse of ₹8.69 lakh, an increase of ₹2.22 lakh from the previous edition.
Registration for the tournament will open at 6 am on September 1 and close at 8 pm on September 30.
The tournament will conclude with the closing ceremony on November 10.

The 10th edition aims to commemorate the legacy of Capt (Late) N Kenguruse, who was posthumously awarded the Mahavir Chakra for gallantry, while providing a competitive platform for footballers in the state.
The organisers said the milestone edition would seek to promote football and encourage young players while upholding the values of courage, dedication and sportsmanship associated with the tournament.
