Kohima: Akashvani stations across the country will organise marathon and walkathon events on May 8 to mark 90 years of radio broadcasting in India.
As part of the nationwide celebration, Akashvani Kohima will host a marathon featuring students from government high schools in Kohima.
The event will be flagged off by Deputy Commissioner B. Henok Buchem from Old MLA Hostel Junction and will culminate at High School Junction. The opening ceremony is scheduled for 6:00 am, while the closing ceremony will be attended by Kethosituo Sekhose, Director of Youth Resources and Sports, Government of Nagaland.
In addition to students, staff members of Akashvani Kohima will also participate in the marathon.
The event is being organised in partnership with Miacheio Market, Peraciezie, and the National Health Mission under the Department of Health and Family Welfare. The State Bank of India is sponsoring the programme.
