Nagaland: Stolen bike of Andhra YouTuber recovered; 2 held

Kohima: A stolen motorcycle belonging to an Andhra Pradesh-based YouTuber was recovered within days by police in Nagaland, with two individuals arrested in connection with the case.

According to police, the incident was reported on April 17, 2026, when Katabathina Sudheer Kumar, a bike rider and YouTuber from Andhra Pradesh, lodged an FIR at North Police Station in Kohima. He stated that his Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 motorcycle, bearing registration number AP40CS4895, had been stolen from outside his homestay in Midlane Colony.

Following the complaint, police launched an extensive investigation and search operation. Through sustained efforts and intelligence-based inputs, the investigating team traced the stolen motorcycle to New Jalukie in Peren district.

A joint operation was carried out on April 27, 2026, by Kohima Police and Peren Police, led by the SDPO Jalukie, resulting in the successful recovery of the vehicle.

Police said the prime accused, identified as Ilungchube, along with another, Amos Pame, who allegedly received the stolen motorcycle, have been arrested. Further investigation is underway to determine the extent of their involvement and any possible network linked to the theft.

Officials said the case highlights effective coordination between district police units, which enabled the recovery of the stolen vehicle within ten days of the complaint.
