Kohima: The Department of Power has informed that a temporary power shutdown will be observed across 10 districts of Nagaland on April 30 as part of a mock emergency preparedness exercise.
The shutdown, scheduled from 6:30 pm to 6:45 pm, will be conducted under “Operation Night Guard”, a civil defence air raid and blackout drill carried out as part of the annual Nagaland Emergency Preparedness Exercise (NEPEx).
According to the department, the exercise will cover the districts of Dimapur, Kohima, Mokokchung, Wokha, Zunheboto, Mon, Phek, Tuensang, Peren and Kiphire.
To ensure the success of the drill, the department has appealed to the public to cooperate by switching off all lights, electrical appliances, inverters and any other sources of illumination during the 15-minute period.
Power supply will be restored after the sounding of a siren at 6:45 pm, the department added.
