Kohima: The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC), along with its frontal organisations and the Kohima District Congress Committee (KDCC), held a large-scale demonstration at the Congress Bhavan premises on Friday at 11 AM.
The protest was part of a nationwide demand for the resignation of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, following controversial remarks and actions.
Khriedi Theünuo, Working President of NPCC, vehemently condemned the Home Minister’s remarks, which he deemed insulting to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the Father of India’s Constitution.
Theünuo asserted that such statements erode the foundational principles of Indian democracy and called for accountability from the highest office.
Akuonuo Miachieo, PCC Secretary (Protocol), echoed these sentiments, expressing outrage and demanding Shah’s immediate resignation. She accused the Home Minister of showing blatant disregard for the values enshrined in the Indian Constitution.
The NPCC also condemned the “false allegations” of S Phangnon Konyak, a member of the Rajya Sabha who criticized the Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi. The party termed it as baseless accusations aimed to distract from pressing issues and undermine leadership.
The NPCC announced its intent to continue protesting until the Home Minister resigns, emphasizing its commitment to upholding constitutional integrity and democratic principles.
