The Lotha Students’ Union (LSU) has pledged its “unwavering support” to the Concerned Aspirants Group, a collective advocating for age relaxation in competitive exams due to the disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a statement, the LSU highlighted the challenges faced by aspirants whose careers were significantly impacted by the pandemic. “The pandemic has already caused irreparable damage to their careers, and it is our collective responsibility to ensure they are not further marginalized,” the union said.

The LSU urged the Nagaland government to consider the age relaxation demand with empathy and called for swift action. “This demand is not only justified but necessary to restore hope and faith in the system,” it added.

With Nagaland already facing high unemployment rates, the LSU urged state leaders to take decisive action. “We must learn from other states that have implemented similar measures to support their youth,” it said.

As the Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC) and Nagaland Staff Selection Board (NSSB) exam notifications approach, the LSU called for a prompt government response. “We appeal to the government to act with compassion and wisdom,” the union urged, expressing hope for a positive outcome.

The student body also emphasized the need to empower youth for a better future in Nagaland. “Let us join hands to empower our youth and secure a brighter future for Nagaland,” the LSU stated.
