Kohima: Nagaland’s Advisor of the Civil Administration Works Division (CAWD) & Taxes, Kudecho Khamo, on Monday criticised a contractor’s attempt to burn grass on a newly constructed road in the Phek district.
The incident came to light when photos and videos circulated on social media platforms, showing a group of people attempting to burn grassy areas along the newly constructed road.
“It has come to my knowledge that the blacktopping of Chozuba Town Roads was done by compromising the quality and workmanship,” the legislator said.

He observed that photos and videos circulating on various social media platforms have stirred public outrage, leading to condemnation directed at both the department and the contractor involved.
“Surprisingly, the contractor was trying to burn down those grasses with a gas cylinder on Monday morning after seeing the social media on Saturday,” the legislator said.
