Kohima: The recently declared results of the Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) examination for the year 2024, declared by the Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) revealed a trend as girls outperformed boys in all streams.
In the Arts stream, the pass percentage for female students stands at 86.18%, surpassing the 79.5% pass rate for male students. Similarly, in the Commerce stream, female students achieved a pass percentage of 89.06% compared to 86.7% for male students. In the Science stream, female students again outshined their male counterparts with a pass percentage of 83.96%, while male students achieved 76.82%.
The overall pass percentage for each stream reflects this trend, with the Arts stream at 83.16%, Commerce stream at 87.67%, and Science stream at 80.88%.
Keletsolie Mekro (97.40%) from Dainty Buds, Kohima, clinched the top spot in the Arts stream, while Satyam Kumar Jaiswal (98.40%) from Holy Cross Hr. Sec. School, Dimapur, topped the Commerce stream. Narola Imsong (96.20%) from Queen Mary Hr. Sec. School, Mokokchung, emerged as the topper in the Science stream.

Among the top performers, three toppers from Government Higher Secondary Schools secured positions in the merit list for the HSSLC Examination 2024 in the Arts stream.
As for children with disabilities, 14 candidates applied for exemptions and appeared for the examination. Out of these, 10 candidates passed, with four securing first Division and six in second Division.
