Kohima: In a significant development for football enthusiasts in Nagaland, the Kohima District Football Association (KDFA) and Entertainment Enterprise Nagaland (3E Nagaland) have formalised a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to launch the Kohima Premier League.
This initiative is poised to spotlight local talent and affiliated entities within the KDFA, such as the Kohima District Football Referees Association (KDFRA) and the Football Licensed Coaches of Kohima District (FLCoKD).
The MoU was ceremoniously signed by KDFA President Mhasimhalie Mathew Yhome and 3E Nagaland Managing Director Kethosituo Elvis Mepfuo, with officials from both organisations present at the 2K Hotel in Kohima on Thursday.
Under the aegis of the KDFA and operational management by 3E Nagaland, the league will be strategically coordinated with the Nagaland Football Association (NFA) to seamlessly integrate into the NFA calendar.
KDFA president Mhasimhalie Mathew Yhome hailed the occasion as a watershed moment for Kohima’s football fraternity, expressing optimism that the tournament would catalyse football development within the district.
He extended gratitude to 3E for their endeavors in revitalising the league system in the state capital following a prolonged hiatus.
