Kohima: A day after G-Sports FC and New Market FC secured a semi-final berth, A-Yhome FC and Barak FC also sealed its entry to the next round of the ongoing Kohima Super Cup as semi-finalists after emerging as the top two teams from Pool-B.
During the last quarter final matches played on Friday at IG stadium, Barak FC took on Aphuyemi FC to a goalless draw. Later, A-Yhome FC emerged as the group winner after defeating Magdaline Coaching FC to a score of 3-2.
Tianungsung of Magdaline scored the first goal in the 15th minute of the game and only after the break of the first-half did Punuru of A-Yhome FC netted the equalizing goal of the match in the fourth minute.
Punuru doubled the score within 10 minutes of his first goal later earned a hat-trick in the 72nd minute. Few minutes later, Magdaline FC’s Nosal Pucho scored another goal for his team in the 79th minute. Despite several attempts, both teams failed to score further and the final whistle blowed in favor of A Yhome FC.
On Saturday, G Sports FC will play against Barak FC at 2:30 PM and on Sunday, A Yhome FC will take on New Market FC at 1:30 PM.
