Kohima: The NSCN-IM, on Thursday, terminated two executive members of the Steering Committee, of for indulging in ‘anti-national’ activities.
For the act of “depravity, violating breach of party discipline, Yehzabo and defection the two were terminated from the Naga National Service (Party and Government) with immediate effect”, NSCN-IM said.

The group said that the two brothers were on the radar for quite some time. NSCN-IM said it learnt from various sources about their involvement in activities detrimental to the interest of the Naga nation. The organisation alleged that the two were used by the Indian agencies.
Even as the two brothers were asked to be stationed at the NSCN-IM’s Council Headquarters (CHq) at Camp Hebron, it said that instructions were defied. Following this, the authorities were prompted to issue a summon letter to be stationed at the CHq and to produce an explanation for their “act of defiance”.
NSCN-IM said that the letter was “dishonoured” and so a final opportunity was given to “come out clean for deliberately defying the instructions for the third time consecutively”.
Rather than showing up at the CHq, the NSCN-IM said that the duo showed up at Khehoi designated camp by turning themselves as fugitives under the veil of Naga unity and for the upliftment of the nation.
“Failing to justify their position against various allegations, there is no iota of doubt that the two brothers are not clean. Working hand in gloves with the adversaries for personal benefits overlooking the Naga national interest is an act of treason. Deliberately abusing power for vested interest under the shadow of NSCN is uncalled for,” it said.
While Vaison Vemai was previously assigned in the religious wing at the highest level, the group said that going by his “treacherous and unbecoming activities”, he is no longer qualified.
It added that the two members were suspended and terminated a couple of times even in the past. “Such rogue members would do nothing good other than creating more problems,” it said.
The NSCN-IM warned that any person who continues to work with the two “anti-national brothers” in any matters will be dealt with “utmost seriousness”.
The group also served a week to the duo to surrender all of its government properties which are in their possessions, failing which will invite necessary actions.
Further saying that the duo had shown staggering hypocrisy and moral cowardice, the group condemned the “perfidy, unbridled profligacy and overweening arrogance” and the “disgraceful conduct and duplicity of deserting the mother organization”.
