World Entrepreneurship Day Observed in Mizoram

World Entrepreneurship Day 2026 was observed in Mizoram today, with the Mizoram Entrepreneurs’ Chamber (MEC) organising a programme at Woodland Hills, Zonuam.

Minister F Rodingliana was scheduled to attend the programme as the chief guest but could not be present due to ill health. His message was read out at the event, in which he welcomed the observance of Entrepreneurship Day in Mizoram and expressed hope that participants would gain valuable insights from the discussions and presentations for the benefit of the state.

The programme was chaired by MEC President Joseph L Ralte, while Lalnuntluanga Colney, State Lead of SELCO Foundation, delivered the keynote address.

In his address, Colney highlighted various initiatives undertaken by SELCO Foundation to support entrepreneurs and farmers. These include solar-powered dryers, cold storage facilities, market sheds and solar sprayers aimed at helping farmers improve productivity and profitability.

He also said that SELCO Foundation provides support to entrepreneurs through training, exposure visits and assistance in accessing improved equipment and technology. SELCO Foundation sponsored the World Entrepreneurship Day programme.

Entrepreneurs including PB Lalrinfela of Tribeland Coffee, Dr Kawlthanzami of Zo-Ei, Huxley L Colney of Peipung Pvt Ltd and H Lalchhanhima of Lushai Organic shared their experiences during the programme.

The afternoon session featured panel and round-table discussions focusing on the challenges and barriers to the growth of entrepreneurship in Mizoram, as well as possible ways forward for strengthening the state’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.
