Aizawl: Assam Rifles seized methamphetamine tablets worth over ₹102 crore in Mizoram’s Champhai district on Wednesday.
According to officials, the operation was carried out near Zote village following specific intelligence inputs. During the search, troops intercepted a suspected individual carrying a consignment. However, the person fled into a nearby jungle, abandoning the load.
A detailed search of the area led to the recovery of 34.218 kg of methamphetamine tablets, estimated at ₹102.65 crore in value. The seized contraband was later handed over to the Excise & Narcotics Department, Champhai, for further legal proceedings.
