Aizawl: Rajya Sabha MP K. Vanlalvena visited Sairang Railway Station to review ongoing passenger services and explore future connectivity options.

During his interaction with station officials, Vanlalvena stressed the urgent need to transition from diesel-powered trains to electric services in Mizoram, highlighting the importance of sustainable and efficient railway operations.

Currently, three passenger train services operate from Sairang, connecting Guwahati, Kolkata, and Delhi. Officials also said a Sairang–Silchar service is under consideration, subject to operational feasibility.

Vanlalvena assured that he would raise the matter with the General Manager of North East Frontier Railways in Guwahati to push for expansion of routes and timely electrification.
