Aizawl: A medical team from the National Programme for Control of Blindness and Visual Impairment (NPCB&VI), under the Health & Family Welfare Department, successfully conducted an eye camp at the Community Health Centre (CHC), Chawngte, with support from IPA funding. The camp provided treatment to a total of 109 patients over four days.
According to the organisers, 30 patients were treated on the first day, followed by 29 on the second day. The third day recorded 28 cases, while 22 patients were attended to on the final day.
An eight-member team from the National Health Mission (NHM), Aizawl, led the programme. The team included Dr. Lalnuntluangi Khiangte, State Programme Officer, NPCB&VI, NHM; Dr. Zosangzuala, Eye Surgeon from Civil Hospital, Aizawl; along with a nursing officer, ophthalmic assistant, and support staff from Civil Hospital, Aizawl.
The programme is part of ongoing efforts by NHM Mizoram to improve access to specialised healthcare across the state.
