Aizawl: Health & Family Welfare Minister Lalrinpuii today formally launched the official website of the Mizoram State Healthcare Society (MSHCS) at SAD Conference Hall-II, MINECO.
Speaking at the event, Lalrinpuii highlighted the progress of the Mizoram Universal HealthCare Scheme (MUHCS), noting that the scheme has been implemented effectively and has already benefitted a large number of families through its cashless system. She said the increasing number of empanelled hospitals was a clear sign of success and thanked all stakeholders involved in making the scheme functional and accessible.
Dr. Lalhriatzuali Ralte, CEO of MSHCS, presented an update on MUHCS since its rollout on April 1, 2025. She informed that Mizoram now has 11 empanelled private hospitals and three private day-care centres. Across the state, there are a total of 25 empanelled hospitals and 13 deemed empanelled hospitals.
Since its inception, MUHCS has facilitated 31,263 treatments in hospitals within Mizoram and beyond, amounting to a total expenditure of ₹42.06 crore. Of these, 30,565 treatments were conducted in hospitals within the state, while 698 patients received care outside Mizoram.
Dr. Ralte stressed that the scheme has greatly eased the burden on households by ensuring cashless treatment in both government and empanelled private hospitals. She also pointed out that emergency cases are given special consideration to ensure smooth implementation.
In his technical report, Lalzirtira, Informatics Officer, explained that the newly launched MSHCS website will serve as a comprehensive platform for the public. The site provides up-to-date information on empanelled hospitals, the structure and functioning of MUHCS, and official notifications.
The launch programme was attended by senior officials, including Finance Secretary Pu Ramchuana, Deputy CEO of MSHCS Lalchhuanawma, and other dignitaries, who expressed appreciation for the initiative.
