Aizawl: The Border Security Force (BSF), in a coordinated operation with the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Aizawl, seized approximately 9.6 lakh methamphetamine (Yaba) tablets worth more than ₹144 crore.
Acting on credible intelligence, BSF troops from the M&C Frontier, along with NCB officials, intercepted the consignment in Serchhip district, Mizoram. The operation led to the arrest of three suspected drug peddlers and the recovery of a Bolero pickup vehicle used to transport the illicit drugs.
This follows an earlier successful joint operation on August 21, 2025, when the BSF, NCB Aizawl, and Mizoram’s Excise & Narcotics Department intercepted four suspected vehicles on the Aizawl–Champhai National Highway (NH-6) near Keifang and Seling villages, approximately 60 km from Aizawl. Eight individuals were arrested, and about 5 lakh Yaba tablets, along with heroin concealed in soap cases, were seized. The total estimated value of the narcotics recovered in that operation exceeded ₹75 crore.
