Aizawl: Lok Sabha MP Richard Vanlalhmangaiha on Tuesday met Border Roads Organisation (BRO) Director General Lt. Gen. Raghu Srinivasan at the BRO Headquarters, pressing for faster completion of ongoing works in Mizoram and addressing land acquisition hurdles.
During the meeting, the MP urged the BRO to expedite road works and other development activities being undertaken in the state, particularly under the PUSHPAK Project. He specifically called for the completion of pending RCC bridges that have stalled progress in certain areas.
Vanlalhmangaiha also sought the Director General’s intervention in resolving delays in land acquisition in Lawngtlai, Siaha, and Champhai districts, stressing that compensation must be settled promptly to avoid further project slowdowns. In Siaha district, he highlighted the case of the Tipa–Laki–Lope–Lopu (LTTT Road) project, where an additional compensation amount of ₹82 lakh is pending, and requested that it be disbursed without delay.
The BRO chief assured that every effort would be made to execute ongoing and future works in Mizoram efficiently and within timelines. He also stated that land acquisition and compensation-related issues would be reviewed at the earliest. Lt. Gen. Srinivasan added that he plans to visit project sites in Mizoram to assess the situation on the ground.
