Serchhip: Chief Minister Lalduhoma, while inaugurating a state-of-the-art 3D Dental Laboratory at Serchhip College, provided an update on the ongoing construction of a new hospital in the district. The project, with a total budget of Rs. 71 crore, including Rs. 21 crore from PGCIL, is progressing well, according to the Chief Minister.
The 3D Dental Laboratory, funded under the PM DevINE scheme, is designed to enhance dental services, particularly for patients requiring dentures. The inauguration ceremony, held at the Serchhip DC Conference Hall, was chaired by Additional DC Lalrinzuala.
Lalduhoma emphasised the importance of such advancements in improving healthcare access across the region. “This facility not only serves Serchhip but is part of a larger initiative to establish similar laboratories across the northeastern states, interconnected via AMTRON in Guwahati. Telemedicine and 5G-powered health technologies are the future, and Mizoram is poised to benefit greatly,” he said.
In addition to the dental laboratory, Lalduhoma also inaugurated a Mobile ECG Device and a Drip Monitoring System at the District Hospital to further strengthen patient care services.
At the event, certificates were presented to 15 local youths who completed a 45-day hospitality training program at IHM Delhi under the NEC digital tourism project.
The technical potential of 3D and 5G technologies was outlined by Ashish Anand, Adviser to AMTRON. Dr. A.S. Lorho S Pfoze, former Vice Chairman of the NE MPs Forum, and Sherry Lalthangzo, Economic Adviser to NEC, also addressed the gathering.
Deputy Commissioner Paul L. Khuma, who introduced the program, highlighted the significance of these developments in boosting healthcare and educational opportunities in Serchhip.
