Aizawl: Mizoram Home Minister K. Sapdanga attended the 68th Mizo Zirlai Pawl (MZP) Assembly held at Thanghlianga Sailo Run, Champhai. The event also saw the presence of Lalmuanpuia Punte, Adviser to the Chief Minister (Political).
Addressing the assembly, K. Sapdanga expressed his happiness in being part of the MZP Assembly, reminiscing about his past involvement as the Vice President of Champhai MZP Sub Headquarters.
He shared that he had been an active participant in the movement for peace in Mizoram. Sapdanga praised the MZP for shaping the students and guiding them on the right path, encouraging attendees to continue their support for the organization in its mission to foster the future leaders of the state.
The Home Minister emphasized the importance of protecting Mizoram and its people, urging students to remain vigilant in defending the state from external threats. He further highlighted the role of Mizo men in maintaining peace, stressing the need for unity and collective effort. Sapdanga encouraged students to consistently ask themselves, “Have our studies brought about success?” and to strive to achieve what others deem impossible. He reiterated the significance of education in nation-building and stressed that protecting the state and its identity should always be a priority.
Additionally, Sapdanga discussed the Mizoram government’s flagship program, ‘Ban a Kaih,’ aimed at addressing youth unemployment and promoting self-reliance. He affirmed the government’s commitment to opening up opportunities for young entrepreneurs, saying, “The government is determined to pave the way for self-sufficiency.” He also reminded the students that safeguarding the state and its people requires perseverance and resilience.
The 68th MZP Assembly was presided over by Zairemthanga, Treasurer of MZP General Headquarters, while C. Lalrokhuma, Adviser, led the discussion on the assembly’s theme, “For the State and the People – The Role of Mizo Students.” Various reports were presented during the session, including those from the General Headquarters and affiliated student unions.
