Aizawl: In a move aimed at fostering entrepreneurship and improving livelihoods in Mizoram, the Planning & Programme Implementation Department’s Mizoram Startup Mission (MSUM) launched Mizoram Rahbi 5.0. The program was officially inaugurated by Chief Secretary Dr. Renu Sharma, who serves as the Chairperson of the MSUM Governing Board, at her office in MINECO, Aizawl.
During the launch event, Chief Secretary Dr. Renu Sharma emphasised the importance of Mizoram Rahbi 5.0 as a crucial initiative for aspiring entrepreneurs in the state. She highlighted how the program will help individuals build stable sources of income while contributing to Mizoram’s economic growth.
She added that the initiative is designed to support those looking to start a business or improve their livelihoods, with potential beneficiaries eligible for financial support of up to ₹7.5 lakhs. Dr. Sharma described the initiative as a way to pave the path for a brighter future for those ready to embark on entrepreneurial journeys.
The launch event was attended by Planning & Programme Implementation (P&PI) Department Secretary Lalmalsawma Pachuau and other key officials.
Mizoram Rahbi 5.0 is part of MSUM’s broader mandate to promote entrepreneurship and startup development across multiple sectors in Mizoram. The program offers training, financial assistance, and networking opportunities to aspiring entrepreneurs. Applications for participation will be open until October 31, 2024, and selected candidates will undergo various stages of training and evaluation throughout November and December. The program will include workshops on business plan development, financial management, and hands-on mentoring sessions.
