Aizawl: The process of counting votes for the Mizoram (ST) constituency began today at 8 AM, under peaceful and orderly conditions. Under the meticulous supervision of the Counting Observer, the strong rooms where the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and postal ballots were stored were opened, and the EVMs were transported to the designated counting rooms.
In Aizawl district, the counting commenced with the postal ballots, while in other districts, the process began directly with the EVM votes.
The state has mobilized a substantial workforce to ensure a smooth counting process, including over 2000 Returning Officers, Assistant Returning Officers, Counting Supervisors, Counting Assistants, and Micro-Observers.

There are a total of 13 Counting Centres established across Mizoram to manage the counting process efficiently. As of the latest updates, the ruling party, Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM), is leading with 182,464 votes.
Their candidate, Tichard Vanlalhmangaiha, is currently ahead of the Mizo National Front (MNF) candidate, Rajya Sabha MP K Vanlalvena, who has secured 123,128 votes so far.
The counting process continues under stringent security measures, ensuring transparency and accuracy as the results unfold.
