Aizawl: A joint operation conducted by Assam Rifles and the Special Narcotics Police Station, CID (Crime), Aizawl, has resulted in the seizure of 598 grams of Heroin No 4, valued at approximately Rs. 4,18,60,000.
The operation took place in the General Area Falkland Canteen Road in Aizawl, Mizoram, on May 1st, 2024, leading to the apprehension of two individuals involved in the illicit trade.
Acting on specific intelligence inputs, a combined team of Assam Rifles and the Special Narcotics Police Station, CID (Crime), Aizawl, swiftly executed the operation, targeting the suspected location where the contraband was believed to be stored.
During the operation, law enforcement authorities recovered 50 soap cases containing a total of 598 grams of Heroin No. 4, a potent narcotic substance with a staggering street value of Rs. 4,18,60,000. The successful seizure underscores the dedication and effectiveness of the collaborative efforts between security forces and law enforcement agencies in combating the scourge of drug trafficking in the region.

Following the confiscation of the illegal substance, the two individuals apprehended in connection with the smuggling operation were promptly identified as Vahnei (30), a resident of Siaha District in Mizoram, and Thanglianjohn (36) hailing from Churachandpur in Manipur.
They were handed over to the Special Narcotics Police Station, CID (Crime), Mizoram, Aizawl, on May 1st, 2024, for further legal proceedings.
