Shillong: Two minors girls from Meghalaya’s East Jaintia Hills district were rescued from an alleged human trafficking racket.
The victims were reportedly taken to New Delhi by an acquaintance from Meghalaya, without the knowledge or consent of their parents. They were lured with promises of jobs as domestic workers.
However, upon arrival, they were allegedly taken to a spa in Haryana and forced into prostitution.
The girls managed to contact their families, who then informed the KSU Delhi Unit. Acting on the information, KSU alerted SPUNER, following which a coordinated rescue operation was carried out and the victims were safely recovered.
