Shillong: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Tuesday announced the launch of EasyLottery.in, India’s first fully digital lottery platform, aiming to provide a seamless and transparent experience. The website went live during the event, promising a grand first prize of INR 50 crore, set to revolutionize the lottery sector.
Sangma emphasised the platform’s transparency and professionalism, noting how EasyLottery offers a fair and responsible gaming environment. He highlighted the importance of a legal, digital option as an alternative to addictive online games and illegal betting apps. According to Sangma, “EasyLottery is designed to make and not break,” with tax revenue from non-winning tickets contributing to society.
The launch in Delhi was attended by key dignitaries, including Commissioner & Secretary – ERTS Pravin Bakshi and Director of Meghalaya State Lottery MSN Marak. Marak stressed that EasyLottery bridges the gap in India’s lottery sector by making all processes—ticket sales, prize payments, and taxes—digital, except for the draw itself. The lottery draw will use the trusted motorised method to ensure outcomes are purely based on chance.
Bakshi added that EasyLottery focuses on three key aspects: trust, transparency, and legality, with extensive research backing the platform. He assured that it would eliminate scams and money laundering in the lottery industry while retaining the fun for lottery enthusiasts.
EasyLottery takes a unique approach to responsible gaming by monitoring users for signs of compulsive behavior. The system is designed to temporarily suspend accounts of players on a losing streak to promote healthy participation. The platform also enforces a ‘non-transferable ticket’ policy, ensuring that only the ticket buyer can claim the prize, reducing the risk of money laundering.
