Meghalaya: VPP's decision to align with NDA or INDIA bloc pending

Shillong: Following a significant victory in the Shillong Parliamentary Constituency in Meghalaya, the Voice of the People Party (VPP) candidate, Dr. Ricky Andrew Syngkon, has sparked speculation about which political alliance the party will support – the NDA or the INDIA bloc.

The decision is expected to be announced shortly.

Speaking to the media after the election results were declared, Dr. Syngkon reaffirmed the party’s commitment to its vision of reviving, restoring, and transforming Meghalaya.

“We will follow that vision,” assured the new Member of Parliament from Shillong.

When questioned about the issues he plans to address in Parliament, Dr. Syngkon highlighted the party’s comprehensive 24-point manifesto, emphasising that each point is critical to the VPP.

“We will be sitting to discuss and we will work out the issues that require utmost importance and need to be addressed, and we will inform you accordingly,” Dr. Syngkon stated.

Regarding the party’s potential support for either political alliance, Dr. Syngkon noted that the VPP prides itself on maintaining its principles and will make a decision based on those values.
