Guwahati: Meghalaya Deputy Chief Minister, Prestone Tynsong, has appealed to the outlawed Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC) to resume dialogue, underscoring the state government’s commitment to adhering to legal protocols.
In the wake of the HNLC’s claim of responsibility for the March 9 IED bomb blast and their ultimatum to relocate families from Harijan Colony in Shillong, Tynsong addressed the media, emphasizing the government’s ongoing deliberations on the relocation issue.
“We are actively pursuing a lasting resolution,” asserted the Deputy Chief Minister of Meghalaya, refraining from direct commentary on the HNLC’s statement.
Encouraging the outfit to seek peaceful means, Tynsong reiterated the government’s readiness to take legal action against any unlawful activities. “We will not tolerate illegal activities in Meghalaya,” he declared.
Amidst the recent arrests of HNLC members and the dismantling of a sleeper cell, Tynsong reiterated the state government’s determination to prevent further incidents, reassuring citizens of their safety.
“The police will continue their efforts until the perpetrators are brought to justice,” affirmed the Deputy Chief Minister of Meghalaya.
