Imphal: BJP MLA RK Imo Singh has urged Union Home Minister Amit Shah to ensure a swift, time-bound investigation by the National Investigation Agency into the recent bomb blast at Tronglaobi in Manipur’s Bishnupur district.
The blast, which claimed the lives of two siblings and left their mother injured, has triggered widespread condemnation across the state, with growing calls for justice for the victims.
In a letter addressed to Shah on Monday (April 13), the Sagolband Assembly constituency legislator described the incident as deeply disturbing and called for a comprehensive crackdown on those responsible for such acts of violence. While expressing appreciation for the NIA’s prompt assumption of the case, Singh stressed that a timely investigation is crucial to restoring public confidence.
In the same communication, Singh also raised concerns regarding the upcoming national census. He argued that conducting the exercise would be impractical while thousands of people in Manipur remain displaced.
He maintained that the census should be undertaken only after displaced residents have been resettled in their respective homes.
The MLA urged the Union Home Minister to treat both the NIA probe into the Tronglaobi blast and necessary pre-census measures as urgent priorities, linking their timely resolution to the restoration of peace, stability, and constitutional order in the state.
