Imphal: Security forces made a significant seizure on Friday, recovering a substantial cache of weapons, including seven locally made Pompi guns, from Pallel Aimol village in Manipur’s Tengoupal district. Six individuals were detained during the ensuing search operations.
The recovered items, indicative of potential involvement in warlike activities and insurgencies, encompassed one DBBL gun, four SBBL guns, seven locally crafted Pompi guns notorious for their destructive capabilities, five more locally manufactured Pompi HE guns, and one hundred and sixty-three barrel gun cartridges.
Additionally, two bulletproof jackets, two locally produced bulletproof plates, one Patka Helmet, and four Baofeng handheld sets were among the seized items.
Of interest were the recovery of two Indian motorcycles and two Burmese motorcycles, along with other miscellaneous items such as cash books and seals.
