The Assam AVCGXR Development Association (AADA) has launched the AssamVerse Online Digital Art Competition 2025, inviting students across Assam to imagine what the state could look like a century after India’s independence. The competition is open to students from Class 8 through university level and aims to encourage creative thinking through visual storytelling.
The theme for this year is “Assam in 2047 – 100 Years of Independence.” Participants are free to submit either hand-drawn or digital artwork, depending on their category. Students from Classes 8 to 12 can take part in the junior hand-drawn category, while college and university students can compete in the digital illustration category. Participation is free, and entries will compete for a total prize pool of Rs 20,000. Winners will be announced on 15 August 2025.
The competition is being organised with support from Huion India, the title partner, along with MESC – the Media & Entertainment Skills Council – as skilling partner. Other supporters include The Time Square, Parichay Animation Studio, Rhino Motion Institute of Animation & Technology, Leopard Dots Design Studio, and digital partner EastMojo.
AADA, the non-profit behind the initiative, works to strengthen Assam’s presence in Animation, VFX, Comics, Gaming, and Extended Reality (AVCGXR). The organisation focuses on creating opportunities for young people in the creative technology space by offering exposure, training, and support to help them access national and international platforms.
The AssamVerse competition is expected to reach more than 50,000 students and aims to do more than just celebrate artistic talent. Organisers hope it will contribute to larger goals, including promoting media literacy, encouraging creativity, and connecting local creators to emerging digital industries.
