EA Sports has announced that Madden 26, the latest entry in its NFL video game franchise, will be released on 14 August 2025. The announcement was accompanied by a two-minute trailer, offering a first look at the game’s updated systems and new features.
According to EA Sports, Madden 26 will include enhancements built on advanced physics and AI-powered machine learning. Two of the headline features include ‘Coach DNA’ and ‘QB DNA’.
The ‘Coach DNA’ system uses real coaching philosophies informed by nearly ten years of NFL data to simulate tendencies for each coach. Meanwhile, ‘QB DNA’ adds individual traits for quarterbacks, including signature throwing motions, scrambling styles, arm angles, and pocket behaviour.
Daryl Holt, senior vice president and group general manager at EA Sports, said the improvements are intended to make Madden 26 more accurate to real-world football strategy and performance.
Madden remains one of EA Sports’ key annual sports franchises and is expected to be released across all major gaming platforms. Further details, including console-specific features and gameplay modes, are expected to be shared in the lead-up to launch.
