Kohima: The 4th edition of the Nagaland Futsal Club Championship (NFCC) 2025 culminated in a spectacular closing ceremony at the Futsal Centre, Regional Centre for Sporting Excellence, Sovima, Chümoukedima, on Saturday night.
Aphuyemi FC (Zunheboto) reclaimed their championship title after a thrilling 7-4 victory over defending champions Nyenshen FC (Tuensang) in the final.
The high-octane final match showcased fast-paced action, tactical brilliance, and high-level competitiveness from both sides. Aphuyemi FC’s attacking dominance and composure under pressure ensured their triumph, securing them the right to represent Nagaland in the upcoming national tournament.
The closing ceremony, which began at 7:30 PM, was chaired by Imli Sunup, Joint Secretary of the Nagaland Football Association (NFA) and Co-Convener of NFCC. The event was graced by Dr. Watizulu Jamir, Chairman of the Development Authority of Nagaland (DAN) and Vice President of the Badminton Association of India (BAI), who highlighted the significance of sports in youth development and state-building.
The evening also featured a welcome address by Mughato Aye, Vice President of the NFA, a special performance by Miss T. Wongyinla Yimkhiung, and a benediction by Tali Moa Jamir, Associate Pastor (Youth), Ao Baptist Church Diphupar-A.
Aphuyemi FC walked away with a cash prize of Rs. 1 lakh, while runners-up Nyenshen FC received Rs. 50,000.
Organised under the aegis of the Nagaland Football Association, the annual NFCC continues to grow in scale and impact, serving as a platform for scouting and nurturing futsal talent across the state. With top clubs vying for the title each year, the tournament has set a new benchmark for competitive futsal in the region.
