A Quiet Place expands: First-person horror game announced

Game developer Saber Interactive, known for titles like World War Z and Evil Dead: The Game, has announced A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead, a first-person survival horror experience based on the popular film franchise.

This isn’t Saber Interactive’s first foray into frightening fans. With experience developing games like Halo and Jurassic Park: Survival, the studio has a proven track record of crafting nightmares. A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead promises to be another chilling addition to their portfolio.

Scheduled for a 2024 release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, the game transports players to the world established in the 2018 film. Here, monstrous creatures with hypersensitive hearing stalk a post-apocalyptic wasteland, forcing humanity to adapt to a life of absolute silence.

The game’s premise and design elements echo the critically acclaimed Alien: Isolation. A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead’s recently released trailer offers a glimpse into this terrifying atmosphere. We see the protagonist desperately trying to activate a generator and escape, only to be betrayed by the creak of a door. The player character’s desperate attempt to avoid making noise underscores the importance of absolute silence in this game.

Fleeting glimpses of gameplay reveal a handheld noise meter and a flickering flashlight, hinting at the resource management challenges players will face.

The lines between horror movies and video games continue to blur. Studios like Blumhouse Productions venturing into the gaming world exemplify this trend. A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead is a prime example, offering horror fans another terrifying title to look forward to in 2024.
