In a shocking turn of events at a boarding school in Purulia, West Bengal, a 14-year-old Class 8 student has been apprehended for the alleged murder of a younger Class 1 student. The motive behind this gruesome act, as revealed by Purulia Superintendent of Police (SP) Avijit Banerjee, is the desire to force authorities into declaring a holiday, allowing the perpetrator to return home.
The victim, a six-year-old boy from the same school, was discovered lifeless on the banks of a pond situated a few hundred meters away from the educational institution. Subsequently, the grieving family filed a complaint with local law enforcement, pointing fingers at the school for negligence in ensuring the safety of their child.
SP Avijit Banerjee, addressing the media, disclosed that the accused teenager confessed to the crime during police interrogation. The motive, as conveyed by the suspect, stemmed from his belief that the school would announce a holiday in the event of a tragic incident or loss of life. “Hence, he killed the six-year-old boy. We are verifying his statement,” stated Banerjee.
According to an officer at the Manbazar police station, the accused shared chilling details of the crime during questioning. Reportedly, he enticed the victim away from the school premises with chocolate before brutally bludgeoning him to death using a stone.
