Irish mixed martial arts fighter Conor McGregor has been ordered to pay over €248,000 (£206,000) in damages after a jury found him guilty of assaulting Nikita Hand in a Dublin hotel in December 2018.
The High Court jury in Dublin deliberated for a day before concluding that McGregor assaulted Ms Hand at the Beacon Hotel. Speaking outside the court on Friday, Ms Hand said, “My story is a reminder that no matter how afraid you might be to speak up, you have a voice.”
McGregor responded to the verdict on social media, announcing his intention to appeal. In a post on X, he thanked his supporters, stating, “I am with my family now, focused on my future.”

Ms Hand had also filed a case against James Lawrence, 35, from Drimnagh, Dublin, alleging he assaulted her in the same incident. However, the jury determined that Lawrence did not assault her.
