World-renowned artist Post Malone will perform his first solo headline concert in India in Guwahati this December, an event organisers say reflects the Northeast’s growing presence in the country’s live music circuit.
The concert, scheduled for 8 December 2025 at the Khanapara Veterinary Ground, is being organised by BookMyShow Live in partnership with the Government of Assam. Officials involved in the project said the event marks one of the biggest international artist appearances in the region and indicates rising demand for global live experiences beyond India’s major metros.
Representatives from BookMyShow said the response from audiences across the Northeast shows the region’s readiness for large-format international concerts. Naman Pugalia, Chief Business Officer for Live Events at the company, said bringing an artist of Post Malone’s profile to Guwahati signals a shift in India’s expanding cultural map and demonstrates the growing appetite for such events in emerging centres.
The Assam Tourism Development Corporation (ATDC) said the concert aligns with the state’s plans to build a sustained live entertainment ecosystem under its new concert tourism initiative. ATDC Managing Director Padmapani Bora said the performance is part of a broader push to position Assam as a venue for international cultural events and attract economic activity connected to live entertainment.
The Northeast, known for its long-standing music culture and high engagement with live performances, has increasingly featured in discussions about India’s evolving entertainment markets. The upcoming concert is expected to further establish Guwahati as a destination capable of hosting large international shows.
Tickets for the event are available exclusively on BookMyShow.
