Guwahati: The Karmabir Nabin Chandra Bordoloi Stadium, Sarusajai, reverberated with the footfalls of over 4,000 enthusiastic participants who gathered on Sunday for the annual Guwahati Half Marathon, organised as part of Techniche, the esteemed Techno-Management fest of the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG).
Under the banner of “Run for a Cleaner Tomorrow,” the marathon not only celebrated the spirit of running but also championed environmental consciousness and community engagement.

Runners from Guwahati and beyond Assam united for the cause, embracing health, sustainability, and unity as they traversed the designated routes.
The event featured two categories of runs: the “Spirit Run,” spanning 6 kilometers, and the challenging “Glory Run,” covering 21 kilometers. Commencing with the Spirit Run at 5:15 AM, followed by the prestigious Glory Run at 6:15 AM, participants exhibited remarkable resilience and determination throughout the course.

3rd – Dinesh Kumar
Spirit Run Female Category:
1st – Gloryfy Kurbah
2nd – Sangita Bordoloi
3rd – Padmini Das

Glory Run Male Category:

2nd – Pawan Singh
3rd – Bijay Deka
Glory Run Female Category:
1st – Shyamali Singh
2nd – Rinky Kumari Chauhan
3rd – Anita Das

Samyak Sharma, Convener of the Guwahati Half Marathon, expressed gratitude for the overwhelming participation, emphasising the event’s role in promoting fitness and environmental awareness. Acknowledging the indispensable support of sponsors, volunteers, and the community, Sharma hailed the success of the marathon.
