The Bharatiya Bhasha Samiti, in collaboration with Pragjyotishpur University, hosted a symposium on Jagadguru Shri Shankaracharya at the Sudmersen Hall of Cotton University on March 27, 2024.
The symposium explored the philosophical, spiritual, and sociocultural dimensions of Shankaracharya’s teachings and their relevance in today’s world. The event was of interest to scholars, researchers, and enthusiasts all over the country.
The symposium began with a formal presentation by Prof. Smriti Kr Sinha, Vice-Chancellor of Pragjyotishpur University, followed by an address by Chief Guest Prof. Pralhad R Joshi, Vice-Chancellor of Kumar Bhaskar Varma Sanskrit & Ancient Studies University. Other notable speakers included Pujya Swami Mitranand Ji, Acharya of Chinmaya Mission, and Prof. Sudeshna Bhattacharjya, Department of Sanskrit, Gauhati University.
The symposium culminated with a speech by Prof. Jogesh Kakati, Professor & Registrar of PU, after which certificates were distributed to the guests.
The Bharatiya Bhasha Samiti and Pragjyotishpur University expressed their commitment to promoting Indian languages and philosophical discourses through this event.
