Demand for premium and AI-powered consumer electronics is rising across Assam ahead of the Amazon Great Indian Festival 2026, with Sivasagar, Lakhimpur and Barpeta recording growth of 60%, 58% and 50%, respectively, Amazon India said.
The festive sale is scheduled to begin on October 8, with customers across the state increasingly upgrading smartphones, laptops, televisions and appliances. Amazon said affordability options are also helping customers move towards higher-priced products.
Smartphones priced above Rs 30,000 account for more than 45% of category value in Assam, while the Rs 15,000-25,000 segment accounts for around 25%. Amazon also said 82% of smartphone shoppers expect AI features in their devices.
“What stands out in Assam is how considered buyers are. They are excited about AI and they still look closely at performance and value before they decide. In Guwahati, these preferences now match what we see in India’s largest metros. Our AI shopping tools, including Rufus, Lens AI and AI Review Highlights, help people compare options and choose the right product with confidence,” Zeba Khan, Director, Consumer Electronics, Amazon India, said.
In home entertainment, the number of TV shoppers in Assam has increased 8% year on year, while projector purchases have grown 39%. The demand is also spreading beyond Guwahati, with Sivasagar, Lakhimpur and Barpeta recording the highest growth.
Amazon said customers can access products ranging from premium smartphones and larger-screen televisions to laptops, AI-enabled devices, tablets, appliances, audio products and fitness wearables during the sale.
The company said two out of three customers use No Cost EMI, instant bank discounts or exchange offers for higher-value purchases. Customers can avail a 10% instant discount on SBI credit card and EMI transactions, while Prime members can access up to 10% extra benefits.
Amazon also highlighted its AI-powered shopping tools, including Rufus, Lens AI, Watch Highlights, Quick View, AI Review Highlights and Smartchoice, which are designed to help customers compare products and make purchasing decisions.
The company said its operations and fulfilment network in Assam would support deliveries during the festive season. Across India, Amazon has created more than 160,000 seasonal work opportunities and announced the addition of 20 fulfilment centres, six sort centres and 150 last-mile delivery stations across 118 cities.
