Oil India Limited’s Pipeline Sphere in Guwahati organised a series of activities under Saksham 2025–26, a nationwide fuel conservation campaign held from 1 to 15 February 2026 under the theme “Conserve Oil & Gas, Go Green”.
The campaign began on 1 February at OIL’s Pipeline Headquarters in Narengi and at its pumping stations. Employees took the Saksham Pledge for the conservation of petroleum and petroleum products. The pledge was led by Executive Director C. M. Borah, who highlighted the importance of fuel conservation and extended support for the activities scheduled during the fortnight.
As part of the programme, cyclothons were conducted on 8 February in Guwahati, Nagaon and Tezpur. In Guwahati, the event was held at Shastri Maidan at the OIL Pipeline Sphere Headquarters and saw participation from around 200 cyclists, including employees and officials. In Nagaon and Tezpur, around 100 cyclists took part at each location with support from local cycling communities. Participants were provided with Saksham T-shirts, took the Saksham Pledge and received refreshments and participation certificates after completing the rides. A Zumba session was organised in Guwahati as a warm-up activity.

On 14 February, a walkathon was held within the OIL Pipeline Sphere Headquarters premises at Narengi. The event began with a Zumba session and was attended by around 100 employees. The walkathon was flagged off by C. M. Borah. During the programme, C. M. Borah and Amulya Kalita, IOUW Pipeline President, were felicitated. Participants were given certificates and light refreshments following the walk. Arrangements were also made for vehicle emission checks and the issuance of Pollution Under Control certificates for employees in association with a local emission testing centre.
The valedictory function of Saksham 2025–26 was organised on the morning of 15 February, marking the conclusion of the campaign. On the occasion, C. M. Borah thanked employees for their participation in the activities and reiterated the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle and practising fuel conservation in daily life.
According to OIL, employees and participants engaged in activities promoting sustainable mobility, energy conservation and environmental awareness during the campaign.
Saksham 2025–26 is organised under the aegis of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India. Similar activities, including cyclothons and walkathons, were conducted in cities across the country as part of the campaign.
