The Indian Postal Department has released a special commemorative postcard featuring the portrait of singer and cultural icon Zubeen Garg on the occasion of his 53rd birth anniversary. The postcard was unveiled on Wednesday night at the 98th Howly Raas Mahotsav, where it received warm appreciation from those present.
The release was led by Colonel Aravind Verma, Chief Postmaster General of the Assam Postal Circle, in the presence of Raas Mahotsav Celebration Committee president Hemen Das and B.H. College principal and author Dr Bhushan Chandra Pathak.
Dear Reader,

Colonel Verma said the postcard serves as a tribute to an artist whose contribution to Assam’s cultural landscape continues to influence people across generations. Calling Zubeen Garg an enduring figure in Assamese music, he said the Postal Department was honoured to issue a postcard celebrating his life and work.
He also noted that Garg’s values and his acts of compassion remain widely admired, adding that the commemorative postcard would help extend those ideals to a wider audience. Verma said the singer’s cultural reach extends well beyond India and hoped that the release would allow his legacy to resonate further.
