A high-level technical discussion was held between Northeast Frontier Railway (N.F. Railway) and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati at the N.F. Railway Construction Headquarters in Maligaon. The session focused on exploring advanced technologies aimed at enhancing the safety and maintenance of railway bridges.
Key topics included the application of robotic systems and artificial intelligence (AI) for underwater bridge inspection and maintenance. The discussion also covered predictive maintenance through automated monitoring systems. These technologies are intended to address issues such as fault detection, retrofitting, and the development of predictive analytics to ensure bridge safety.
Senior officials from N.F. Railway, including the General Manager of N.F. Railway and the General Manager of N.F. Railway Construction participated in the session alongside professors and researchers from IIT-Guwahati. The dialogue builds upon recent Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) signed between the two institutions, aimed at leveraging academic research to address challenges in rail infrastructure.
