Guwahati: Union Minister and senior BJP leader Sarbananda Sonowal expressed confidence on Thursday that the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) would secure over 400 seats in the Lok Sabha elections. Sonowal visited the state party office in Guwahati to interact with party workers ahead of the concluding phase of the elections.

Sonowal affirmed that public sentiment was strongly in favour of the BJP, predicting the party would win 12 out of the 14 parliamentary seats in Assam.

Speaking to the media, Sonowal credited the Modi government’s decade-long efforts in delivering welfare to the people, which he said has showcased the power of democracy in bringing about positive change.

“Today, Narendra Modi ji is the most popular leader in the world because he has delivered and provided welfare to the people, which is the cornerstone of any modern welfare state. Together, under Modi ji, we will embark on the path to transform our country into the third-largest economy in the world,” he stated.

Highlighting the contributions of youth, women, and farmers, Sonowal added, “The Yuva Shakti, the Nari Shakti, and the Krishak Shakti are firmly behind this vision. We will not stop until we achieve this vision for our country. As we near the end of this mammoth festival of democracy, it is only a few days until Narendra Modi ji will win a historic mandate from the people. Let me assure you, Modi 3.0 is ready for office.”

Sonowal also noted the enthusiastic participation of the people of Assam in the elections, reinforcing his confidence in securing 12 seats in the state.

Criticizing the opposition, Sonowal remarked that they had lost the people’s trust due to their inaction on public welfare over the past six decades.

“The opposition has failed to act in the country’s best interest for more than six decades. They have lost the people’s support by engaging in activities that go against public welfare. Now, in an attempt to grab headlines, they are making statements that the public simply ignores. The people of Assam, along with the rest of the country, are politically astute and well-informed. As a result, they have supported the BJP-led NDA, seeking peace, prosperity, and progress,” he said.
