Agartala: The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party has named Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma among 40 star-campaigners who will participate in the election campaigning in West Bengal ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.
The list also contains the names of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP National President JP Nadda, Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, UP CM Yogi Aditya Nath, and many others. The name of the Assam Chief Minister was kept at the sixth position while Dr Saha’s name secured the seventh slot in the list released by the BJP on Wednesday.
Earlier also the Tripura Chief Minister traveled to Bengal and participated in election campaigns. Meanwhile, the Chief Minister is also actively campaigning for the party candidates here in Tripura.
Speaking to media persons here in Agartala, Dr Saha said that the BJP would do far better results than what is predicted.
“The enthusiasm and spirit of BJP Karyakartas working in different parts of Tripura and other states make me feel that the NDA will easily cross the 400 seats mark. And BJP will single-handedly secure victories in 370 seats. All this is possible because of PM Modi’s leadership and welfare politics,” he told a party event on Tuesday.
