Guwahati: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is scheduled to visit Assam on March 14, ahead of the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls expected to be held in April-May.
Assam Tourism Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah made the announcement on Monday. Singh is expected to address two rallies in the state.
As per reports, the Defence Minister will address rallies in Barpeta and Kokrajhar. The Assam BJP had organised clusters in 14 Lok Sabha constituencies of the state, with Union Ministers and BJP’s central leadership scheduled to visit each cluster.

Preparations to welcome the union minister is underway, as the Lotus party eyes victory in all 14 Lok Sabha seats in the state. The state BJP party is confident of winning more than majority of the total seats.
The BJP will contest in 11 out of the 14 seats, while its ally parties AGP will contest in Barpeta and Dhubri seats and UPPL in Kokrajhar seat.
