Guwahati: Exuding confidence Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma asserting that the BJP-led NDA alliance is poised to secure victory in at least 22 out of the total 25 seats in the northeast region.
Sarma forecasted that the saffron camp would clinch victory in at least 11 to 12 seats in Assam. With 14 parliamentary seats Assam sends highest number of Lok Sabha MPs among the other North Eastern states.
According to Sarma, the outcome of the upcoming Lok Sabha polls appears predetermined, with the BJP expected to secure a whopping 370 seats nationwide.
He attributed this confidence to the overwhelming focus on development evident in the grassroots conversations across rural areas of Assam.
“In my visits to rural areas, election discussions are notably absent, overshadowed by conversations centered on development. Our relentless focus on developmental initiatives has resulted in the launch of numerous projects across Assam,” said Sarma.
Anticipating an stellar performance of the BJP candidates in Assam, Sarma highlighted the substantial shift in voter sentiment.
“Previously, winning margins hovered around 25,000 votes, but this time we anticipate margins exceeding two or three lakh votes,” he stated.
Sarma also emphasized the forthcoming election as an opportunity for Assam’s voters to reaffirm their support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the accelerated pace of developmental endeavors in the state.
He underscored Prime Minister Modi’s upcoming visit, during which several projects are slated to be inaugurated, including the unveiling of an 84-feet long statue commemorating the 16th-century Ahom general, Lachit Borphukan.
