The body of a final-year Higher Secondary (HS) student from Guwahati was discovered under mysterious circumstances in Assam’s Lakhimpur district on Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as Joy Gogoi, a resident of Chandmari in Guwahati.
Gogoi, who attended classes at Lakhimpur’s Genius Academy, had been missing for two days before his body was found adjacent to a railway track in Lakhimpur’s Lilabari locality.

Local authorities have requested the assistance of the railway authorities in investigating the matter. It is suspected that Gogoi may have died in a collision with a train.
