Assam: Commercial LPG cylinder prices hiked by Rs 25

Guwahati: In a recent development, state-run oil marketing corporations (OMCs) have announced an increase in the price of 19 kg commercial LPG gas cylinders in Assam. Effective today, March 1, 2024, the price of a commercial cylinder has been hiked by Rs 25, bringing the total cost to Rs 2,003.5.

This price revision marks the second consecutive increase in the state within a short period. Previously, on February 1, 2024, the price of a 19-kg gas cylinder was raised by Rs 14.

Notably, the retail price of a 19-kg cylinder has varied across different districts in Assam. In Guwahati’s Kamrup Metro district, the price now stands at Rs 2,243.5, while in Hailakandi, it has reached Rs 2,243.5. The Barak Valley area, comprising Cachar, Karimganj, and Hailakandi, currently holds the highest retail price of Rs 2,243.5.

In the hill district of Dima Hasao, the price of a commercial cylinder has risen to Rs 2,258.

Moving further north, Upper Assam districts such as Tinsukia and Dibrugarh have witnessed a retail price of Rs 1853 for commercial cylinders. Sivasagar’s rate is Rs 1841, while Jorhat and Golaghat share a price of Rs 1879.
