The Assam cabinet has approved a new bill aimed at promoting tourism in the state. The Assam Tourism Development and Registration Bill 2024 will be introduced in the upcoming budget session of the Assam Legislative Assembly.
The bill aims to regulate the tourism sector in the state. It will provide benefits for the development of tourism in Assam through the promotion of sustainable tourism practices.
Assam minister Jayanta Malla Baruah informed that the bill will be introduced in the upcoming budget session of the Assam Legislative Assembly. He further added that tourism could not be regulated in the state due to the absence of an act.
